Basketball Recap: Southeast Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bayshore, Southeast was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Manatee Hurricanes by a score of 56-47. The win was some much needed relief for the Seminoles as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Southeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tavares Powell, who went 5-for-9 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Powell is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played. Cornelius Fields was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists.

Southeast's record is now 6-17. As for Manatee, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, Southeast will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. As for Manatee, they will venture away from home to square off against Ruskin Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
