Volleyball Recap: Jackson-Milton Comes Up Short

If Jackson-Milton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lowellville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluejays lost 3-0 to the Mineral Ridge Rams on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost eight in a row.

Jackson-Milton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mineral Ridge work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 27-25, 25-19.

Prentiss Fishtorn paced Jackson-Milton's offense, picking up eight kills. Fishtorn got some help from Emma Johns and her 16 assists. Finally, Sarah Murphy kept Jackson-Milton's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Jackson-Milton now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Mineral Ridge, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Jackson-Milton has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Columbiana on the 13th. As for Mineral Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lake Center Christian on the 15th.
