Basketball Recap: Putnam County Extends Road Winning Streak to 12

Putnam County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Social Circle Redskins as they made off with a 77-55 victory. The War Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redskins, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Putnam County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shamar Mcclendon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Mcclendon a new career-high in points. Jmari Greene was another key player, going 9 for 19 en route to 20 points and three steals.

Putnam County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 23 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Social Circle still got an impressive performance from Derrick White, who went 12 of 20 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameccus Hardge, who posted six points and three steals.

Putnam County's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.9 points per game. As for Social Circle, they moved to 14-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Putnam County nor Social Circle have any future games scheduled.
