Softball Recap: Midlothian Heritage Drops Highest Score of Season Against Terrell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midlothian Heritage). They never let the Terrell Tigers get on the board and left with a 22-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Jaguars have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Trinity Chittamai was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Ariel Dean and Taylor Bilderback did most of the damage at the plate: Dean scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Bilderback scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Bilderback has posted over her last 12 games. Pacie Frazer also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Midlothian Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Midlothian Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. Terrell dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Midlothian Heritage Jaguars face off against Ennis Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ennis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Terrell, they will square off against Kaufman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Terrell is facing Kaufman at the right time seeing as Kaufman is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
