Softball Recap: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Palatine Pirates
After flying high against Hoffman Estates on Tuesday, Schaumburg came back down to earth. The Saxons lost 10-3 to the Palatine Pirates on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Saxons have suffered against the Pirates since May 13, 2019.
Taylor Dolecki was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jordan Murtaugh, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Schaumburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Palatine, the win got them back to even at 9-9-1.
