Caravel Academy dropped their record down to 11-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Cape Henlopen Vikings. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Zayda Rocke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

As for Cape Henlopen, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 15-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.0 runs this season.

On Cape Henlopen's side, Abby Marsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Calciano, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Hayden Hudson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Caravel Academy has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Appoquinimink on the 6th. As for Cape Henlopen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-2 victory against Smyrna on the 6th.
