Softball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elkhart Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the Hamilton Marines get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 on Friday.

The result came thanks to Naomi Herbster's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brianna Ehninger was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Viront, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Elkhart Christian Academy's record now sits at 4-10. As for Hamilton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Coming up, Elkhart Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hamilton, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fremont at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th.
