Soccer Game Preview: Davenport Central vs. Central DeWitt

The Davenport Central Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against Central DeWitt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Davenport Central came up short against Assumption and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for Davenport Central in their meetings with Assumption: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Central DeWitt unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pleasant Valley by a score of 1-0.

Central DeWitt's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Davenport Central, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Davenport Central skirted past Central DeWitt 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
