Softball Game Preview: Northeast Eagles vs. Severna Park Falcons

The Northeast Eagles will face off against the Severna Park Falcons on Monday. Northeast will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Northeast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Old Mill. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Severna Park never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against South River on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Seahawks. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Seahawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Northeast pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Severna Park, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10-1.

Northeast was able to grind out a solid win over Severna Park in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
