Douglas has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Valleys recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Douglas Tigers take on North Valleys Panthers at 11:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Douglas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Damonte Ranch 15-6 on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Grayson Kamper made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kamper was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Titus Gocke looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Douglas: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Douglas got a big performance out of Jake Hoover, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Douglas is undefeated when Hoover posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Main, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.
Douglas lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Valleys entered their tilt with Dayton on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Dust Devils with a sharp 9-3 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Caden Birch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brooks Anderline was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Alejandro Urbina was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
North Valleys pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Douglas, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Douglas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Valleys struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Douglas' way against North Valleys in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Douglas made off with a 21-14 win. Will Douglas repeat their success, or does North Valleys has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
