Basketball Game Preview: Martins Mill Mustangs vs. Cayuga Wildcats

The Martins Mill Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Cayuga Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. Martins Mill will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Martins Mill is returning to their home court after beating Frankston on theirs, despite the fact Frankston has dominated at home this season. Martins Mill really took it to Frankston for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-48 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Martins Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jak Kinder, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points. Kinder's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Archer Schneider, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 24 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cayuga duked it out withAlba-Golden on Tuesday. Cayuga fell 54-42 to Alba-Golden.

Martins Mill's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.2 points. As for Cayuga, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Everything came up roses for Martins Mill against Cayuga in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 66-27 win. In that matchup, Martins Mill amassed a halftime lead of 33-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
