Softball Recap: Marshall County Takes a Loss

Franklin County hit Marshall County with a nine-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Rebels, falling 12-6. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 11-3.

Zakiya Taylor was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Marshall County and nudges their season record down to 10-9. As for Franklin County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-15 record this season.
