Basketball Recap: Weber's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Weber had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Farmington Phoenix by a score of 53-44 on Friday. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 57-33 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Weber to victory were Bradey Schiffman and Avery Shupe. Schiffman shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards, while Shupe went 6 of 9 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Schiffman is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Poulsen, who posted five points and six assists.

Weber's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for Farmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Weber wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-29 defeat against Syracuse on the 14th. As for Farmington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-42 loss against Fremont on the 14th.
