Basketball Recap: North Falls Despite Big Games from Kimberly Reyes and Joanna Ross

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the RedHawks have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Joanna Ross and Kimberly Reyes certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ross posted 15 points, while Reyes scored six points along with six boards and four steals. Those six points gave Reyes a new career-high.

Even though they lost, North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

North's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for West, with the win, they broke their 35-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-18.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will take on Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West, they will face off against South at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
