Football Recap: Sonny Uranich and Michael Lewis Secure Win for Green Valley + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Green Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Basic Wolves 42-40. The Gators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Green Valley's win came down to the chemistry between Michael Lewis and his top target Sonny Uranich. Lewis rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries while Uranich rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Those 100 rushing yards gave Lewis a new career-high.

Basic's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Jayveon Rose and Louden Cahill. Rose threw for 372 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, while Cahill picked up 203 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Cahill also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

The victory got Green Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Basic, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Valley will head out to take on Las Vegas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Basic, they will venture away from home to square off against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
