Baseball Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 24-9 to the Gateway Christian Warriors. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Briar Larson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Odom, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Gateway Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gateway Christian beat Melrose by a score of 26-1 later that day.
