Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Hughes Springs Mustangs

The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will start their season against the Hughes Springs Mustangs. First pitch is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Mt. Pleasant will be up against a hot Hughes Springs squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Hughes Springs came out on top against Hooks by a score of 8-5 on Friday.

Hughes Springs' victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

As for Mt. Pleasant, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the right side of .500 (14-8), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year.

Mt. Pleasant was able to grind out a solid win over Hughes Springs in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Pleasant since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
