Basketball Recap: Faith Christian's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Faith Christian won the last time they faced Orangewood Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Faith Christian Lions strolled past the Orangewood Christian Rams with points to spare, taking the game 74-56. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Rams are ranked 638th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Orangewood Christian lost, don't look at Noah Rigg. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Rigg a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Powell, who posted nine points.

Faith Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Orangewood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

When Faith Christian and Orangewood Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Faith Christian will try to stop LaBelle's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Orangewood Christian will try to stop Lake Mary Prep's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
