Basketball Recap: Porum Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Porum can now relate to. The matchup between them and the Riverfield Country Day Ravens didn't end well, with the Porum Panthers falling 51-36. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 66-37 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riverfield Country Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Harper, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points. What's more, Harper also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anthony Harper, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Porum has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. Riverfield Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Porum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverfield Country Day, they will square off against Weleetka at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverfield Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
