Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Triton Central's Winning Streak

Triton Central was the 41-36 winner over Indianapolis Scecina Memorial when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Triton Central Tigers fell just short of the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders by a score of 53-50 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Crusaders since January 25, 2019.

Despite the loss, Triton Central had strong showings from Eli Sego, who went 10 for 17 en route to 23 points, and Max Crouse, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 17 points and three steals. That's the most points Crouse has posted since back in November of 2023.

With the defeat, Triton Central broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-11.

Triton Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-49 loss against Eastern Hancock on the 1st. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they will take on Beech Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
