Baseball Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

Mathews and John F. Kennedy Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mathews had to settle for second. They lost 11-1 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 14-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Mathews has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Mathews does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will face off against Central Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
