Softball Recap: Shikellamy Wins Going Away Against Midd-West

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake-Lehman, Shikellamy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Midd-West Mustangs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their two-run performance the match before.

Shikellamy got a great performance from Peyton Chamberlain as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Shikellamy let Gweneth Wiest and Sydney Sinko run wild. Wiest scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Sinko scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Sinko a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Oakes, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Shikellamy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Midd-West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shikellamy will host Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shikellamy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Danville has averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Midd-West, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m.
