Center Grove is a perfect 3-0 against Jeffersonville since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Center Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Bloomington South, who was ranked 14th at the time (Center Grove was ranked second). The Trojans put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 33-12 victory last Friday. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Center Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Biggerstaff led the charge by rushing for 67 yards and one TD on only seven carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Sloan, who threw for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Center Grove didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Bloomington South to a completion percentage of just 38.1%. The Trojans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 58.6%.

Center Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jeremy Stanley, Ryan Mokaya, and Franky Hayse picked up one apiece. Hayse is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Bloomington South's side was Kobe Cherry, who made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Jeffersonville strolled past Jennings County with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 35-21. The Red Devils pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.
Jeffersonville's win came from a few key players Center Grove will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Darien Williams, who rushed for 157 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Jeffersonville is 4-2 when Williams posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nation Roe-mcbroom, who picked up 157 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Center Grove's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Jeffersonville, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Center Grove against Jeffersonville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 72-7 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
