Football Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Calipatria Hornets + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Tyler Allen and Ozzie Lopez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clairemont Chieftains will take on the Calipatria Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Clairemont and three for Calipatria.

Two weeks ago, Clairemont lost to Kearny on the road by a 38-20 margin. The Chieftains were down 30-8 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Allen and Jaylen Hill. Hill had a great game and rushed for 194 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Meanwhile, Allen was balling out in the loss, rushing for 136 yards and one score, while also throwing for 19 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Calipatria was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to Southwest EC. The Hornets gained 94 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Calipatria, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Clairemont couldn't quite get it done against Calipatria when the teams last played back in September as they fell 68-56. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
