Baseball Recap: Morningside Comes Up Short

Morningside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They came up short against the Leuzinger Olympians, falling 31-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Olympians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-0 on Tuesday.

Edison Macias made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Morningside's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Leuzinger, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Morningside will square off against rival Beverly Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leuzinger is set to face off against their familiar foe Lawndale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Olympians 3.2, the Cardinals 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
