Teays Valley Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Wade Browder and Maki Cary

Recap: Teays Valley Christian Lions vs. Cross Lanes Christian Warriors

The Teays Valley Christian Lions pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Cross Lanes Christian by a score of 70-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (63), Teays Valley Christian still had to take the loss.

Teays Valley Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Maki Cary and Wade Browder. Cary scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Browder dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Cary is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eli Pendleton, who scored nine points along with six assists.

Even though they lost, Teays Valley Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Teays Valley Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Cross Lanes Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Teays Valley Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Buffalo is ranked 51st, while Teays Valley Christian is ranked 43rd). As for Cross Lanes Christian, Cross Lanes Christian and Grace Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
