Softball Recap: Dorchester Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Dorchester Academy was riding high fresh off their 23-7 takedown of St. John's Christian Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Williamsburg Academy Stallions by a score of 10-9 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in March.

Brinley Pope made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Palmer Kizer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Dorchester Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Williamsburg Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Dorchester Academy will take on Orangeburg Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williamsburg Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
