Southland took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Caruthersville out 3-2.
Meanwhile, Hayti was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-0 to Portageville, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-12, 25-15.
The victory got Southland back to even at 1-1. As for Hayti, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything went Southland's way against Hayti when the teams last played back in September of 2023 as Southland made off with a 3-0 win.
