The Ascension Catholic Bulldogs will face off against the Fisher Gators at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ascension Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Ascension Catholic's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Lutcher hitters got past them. Ascension Catholic lost 15-2 to Lutcher on Friday. Ascension Catholic hasn't had much luck with Lutcher recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ascension Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Theriot, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fisher came up short against Pearl River on Thursday and fell 11-7.

Cali Harvey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jessie Schutt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ascension Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Fisher, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ascension Catholic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fisher struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Ascension Catholic took their victory against Fisher in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
