Football Recap: Horizon Hawks vs. Winter Springs Bears
Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 21-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winter Springs Bears.
Kaio Oliveira rushed for 63 yards.
Makiye Mcburse was a one-man wrecking crew for Winter Springs as he rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Mcburse a new career-high in rushing yards.
Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Winter Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Horizon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on October 10th. As for Winter Springs, they are taking a road trip to face off against Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
