Basketball Recap: White Pine Beats Lake Mead Christian Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

White Pine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 57-35 victory. This was payback for the Bobcats, who suffered a 77-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Lake Mead Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caynen Abittan posted 24 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trystan Rudd, who put up six points and seven boards.

White Pine's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, White Pine and Lake Mead Christian Academy will both be playing Lincoln County the next time they take the court. Lake Mead Christian Academy will host Lincoln County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while White Pine will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
