Volleyball Recap: Warrensburg-Latham Comes Up Short at Home Against Unity Christian

Warrensburg-Latham unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the Unity Christian Lions on Monday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Warrensburg-Latham was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20.

Allison Cushing paced Warrensburg-Latham's offense, picking up four kills. Cushing got some help from Emma Whightsil and her 11 assists. Ava Kierbs controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Warrensburg-Latham will take on Cerro Gordo/Bement at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Unity Christian, they will challenge Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
