Baseball Game Preview: Edinburg Bobcats vs. Weslaco Panthers

For the second straight game, Edinburg will face off against Weslaco. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Edinburg duked it out with Weslaco on Tuesday. The Bobcats fell 7-4 to the Panthers. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Weslaco's part, the team relied heavily on Diego Castillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave Castillo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse James Cantu, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Weslaco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Weslaco back to even at 14-14-1. As for Edinburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16-1.
