Basketball Recap: Evangel Christian Takes a Loss

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Evangel Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They took a 37-21 bruising from the Ezekiel Academy Knights. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Addi Newell was her usual excellent self, putting up nine points along with six boards and three steals for Ezekiel Academy. What's more, Newell also posted three blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Gianna Johnson was another key player, scoring seven points in addition to 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Evangel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Ezekiel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Evangel Christian nor Ezekiel Academy have any future games scheduled.
