Basketball Recap: Lucas Takes a Loss

Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 72-29 loss at the hands of the Crestview Cougars. The Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Lucas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hayden Maloney, who posted eight points and seven rebounds, and Mason Guegold, who earned six points and five boards. Maloney has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 56% every time he's hit the court this season.

Lucas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crestview, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Lucas will take on Mansfield Christian in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cubs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Crestview has already played their next game (against Monroeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
