Baseball Recap: Seminary Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seminary walked away with it. They didn't even let the South Pike Eagles on the board on Thursday, marking their second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Nobody will forget Landon Bush's heroic performance anytime soon (especially South Pike's batters): he turned in a perfect game. Bush has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Chancelor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Hux, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Seminary hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.

Seminary's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for South Pike, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Seminary nor South Pike have any future games scheduled.
