Baseball Recap: Sweeny Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sweeny pushed their score to ten the last time they played El Campo, but on Tuesday they couldn't quite do it again. The Sweeny Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the El Campo Ricebirds 1-0. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Sweeny's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Coker, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Sweeny's win bumped their record up to 10-8-1. As for El Campo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweeny will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Needville at 7:00 p.m. on March 28th. El Campo also won't see the field for a while: their next match is against West Fork at 2:15 p.m. on March 29th.
