Basketball Game Preview: Alcester-Hudson Cubs vs. Sioux Falls Lutheran

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs will head out on the road to challenge Sioux Falls Lutheran at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Alcester-Hudson is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Alcester-Hudson is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Sioux by a score of 57-55. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cubs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in South Dakota, while the Falcons are ranked 281st in Iowa).

Meanwhile, everything went Sioux Falls Lutheran's way against Sunshine Bible Academy on Saturday as Sioux Falls Lutheran made off with a 64-38 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-17.

Alcester-Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Sioux Falls Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Alcester-Hudson was able to grind out a solid victory over Sioux Falls Lutheran when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 56-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alcester-Hudson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
