Football Recap: Central Find Success

Central never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Barrington on Friday. They took down the Eagles 37-21. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 44-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Barrington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Griffin Ingram, who threw for 254 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards. Gianni Digioia helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Barrington, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will venture away from home to take on North Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Skippers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Barrington, they will head out on the road to square off against Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
