Baseball Recap: Scott Victorious

Scott won the last time they faced Grant County and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Braves.

Brady Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonas Foltz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Foltz a new career-high. Carson Bleha was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Scott's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Grant County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Scott didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Western Hills on the 19th. As for Grant County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-1 victory against Bourbon County on the 19th.
