Volleyball Recap: Holt Takes a Loss

Holt lost against Timberland back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Indians fell 3-1 to the T-Wolves. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 26-28, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Holt saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ashlyn ` Winans had 17 digs and two aces. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Winans.

Among those leading the charge was Riley Shelton, who had 14 digs and six assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played. Laila Shelton also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Holt's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Timberland, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1.

Holt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Orchard Farm on the 23rd. As for Timberland, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Washington on the 23rd.
