Softball Game Preview: Barren County Trojans vs. Warren East Raiders

The Barren County Trojans will square off against the Warren East Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Barren County sitting on five straight victories and Warren East on three.

Last Saturday, Barren County earned a 7-3 win over East Rutherford.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warren East). They put the hurt on Russellville with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Tristen Lindsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Lindsey was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Warren East let Kenzie Upton and Addison Lee run wild. Upton fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4, while Lee went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in March of 2024. Kennedy Lawson was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Warren East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Barren County pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Barren County beat Warren East 8-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
