Softball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-1 to the Haven Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Tuesday.

Smoky Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Haven, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smoky Valley will welcome Nickerson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.17 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Haven, they will be playing at home against Hillsboro at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
