Baseball Game Preview: Greater Johnstown Trojans vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets

The Greater Johnstown Trojans will challenge the Ferndale Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Greater Johnstown and five for Ferndale.

Greater Johnstown lost 14-4 to Westmont Hilltop on Tuesday.

Greater Johnstown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Kobal, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tyler Penrod also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Ferndale didn't have quite enough to beat Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Wednesday and fell 5-4.

Connor Hrivnak was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brady Ferenchik, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Greater Johnstown, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.
