Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Cardinals vs. Millington Central Trojans

Brighton is 7-2 against Millington Central since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Brighton will head out on the road to face off against Millington Central at 6:30 p.m. Brighton will be strutting in after a win while Millington Central will be coming in after a loss.

Brighton is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Sequatchie County 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Garrett Glass made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Glass was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Brighton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Brady Ray was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Carson Hooper also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Millington Central lost 11-4 to Fayette Academy on Saturday.

Millington Central dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Brighton, their record is now 4-5.
