Baseball Recap: Warren East Comes Up Short

Warren East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenwood Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.

Dane Parsley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was William Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Warren East's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Greenwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Warren East will challenge South Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenwood, they will face off against University Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
