Softball Recap: Mansfield Comes Up Short

If Mansfield was feeling good fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Southwood last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Doyline Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 17-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Doyline, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Mansfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Winnfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Doyline, they will head out on the road to face off against Gibsland-Coleman at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
