St. John Paul II came tearing into Saturday's matchup with 16 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Russellville Golden Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

Mikayla Osaji paced St. John Paul II's offense, picking up 14 kills. Osaji got some help from Elizabeth Rohling and her 21 assists. Rohling also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Bella Grant, each putting up two.

St. John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Russellville, their loss dropped their record down to 36-14.

St. John Paul II's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Limestone at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Russellville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
