Basketball Recap: Ramona Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Ramona had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Elsinore Tigers on Friday, sneaking past 82-80. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 61-22 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Ramona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cary Moore out in front who posted 21 points. That's the most points Moore has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrew Green, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Elsinore's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Boatman, who went 10-for-16 en route to 24 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrynn Nathan, who earned 19 points and five steals.

Ramona's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.2 points over those games. As for Elsinore, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-11.

Looking ahead, Ramona will face off against Santiago at 9:30 a.m. on March 1st. Ramona knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Santiago likes a good challenge. Elsinore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
