Softball Recap: Hardin Valley Academy Comes Up Short

Hardin Valley Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 17-4 to the Farragut Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on March 11th.

Hardin Valley Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Souders, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Souders has posted since March 4th. Natahalia Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hardin Valley Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Farragut, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardin Valley Academy will venture away from home to square off against Lenoir City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Farragut, they will head out to face off against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Farragut 2.6, Heritage 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
